This functionality has been added to allow you accept coupons that have been issued against certain promotions.
An example of this would be using the barcode at the bottom of a receipt to offer a 4c/Litre discount on fuel.
Go to File > Sales > Promotions > Coupon Promotions > Add/Modify > Advanced > External Coupon Linking.
Once you have created the parameters you require for the coupons (dates, items etc.), this coupon will be activated when the scan code is scanned during a sale.
Tip!
It is possible to restrict an External Coupon to specific Customer Types.
When configuring the Coupon, ensure that a Customer Type has been selected in the Customer Type field.
The Coupon Promo will only trigger when a Customer from the selected Customer Type has been added to the sale and the External Coupon scanned.
Attempting to scan or enter an External Coupon when a Customer from the selected Customer Type hasn't been entered into the sale will trigger the following prompt.
